The Aces have taken control of the series after losing the opener. Las Vegas won the last two games by 22 and 12 points, showing that defense can win at home and on the road. A’ja Wilson leads the way with averages of 23.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in the postseason. Jackie Young has added steady scoring at 19.0 points per game, giving Las Vegas a second option that Indiana has struggled to cover.

Chelsea Gray has directed the offense with 7.2 assists per game while keeping turnovers down. That has helped the Aces stay organized and avoid fast-break points for Indiana. On defense, Wilson has been a wall inside with 2.5 blocks per game, and the team is forcing 7.5 steals. Those plays have slowed Indiana’s scoring and let Las Vegas control the tempo.

Indiana Fever Preview

The Fever started strong with an 89–73 win in Game 1, but have dropped the last two and are on the brink of elimination. Kelsey Mitchell remains the top scorer at 23.3 points per game this postseason, hitting from deep and drawing fouls to keep Indiana in games. Odyssey Sims has chipped in with 11.3 points and 4.5 assists, giving them another guard who can create.

Aliyah Boston is working hard in the paint with 10.2 rebounds per game, to lead the team, and 10.8 points per game. Boston has been reliable, but Indiana has struggled to keep up when Las Vegas forces tough shots, with its tough defense. The Fever averaged just 70 points in the last two games, and the defense gave up long scoring runs that turned both in the Aces’ favor. To stay alive, Indiana needs Mitchell and Sims to hit threes and Boston to stay strong on the glass.

Las Vegas has been the better team the past two games, with Wilson setting the tone at both ends. Indiana relies too much on Mitchell to carry the scoring, in part due to so many injuries the team has suffered this season, and the Aces’ defense has found answers.
