Phoenix fought hard in Game 1 but could not close it out late. Kahleah Copper led the Mercury with 21 points, hitting five shots from deep. Satou Sabally added 19 points and 4 assists, while Alyssa Thomas nearly posted a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Thomas continues to drive the Mercury offense in the postseason, averaging 18.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists. Sabally adds 17.9 points per game with strong inside scoring, and Copper stretches defenses with her outside shooting. Phoenix averages just over 80 points per game in the playoffs and has been helped with a low turnover rate (11.6 per game) during the postseason. Wilson has set the tone for the Aces throughout the postseason, averaging 26.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, and nearly three blocks. Jackie Young continues to provide steady scoring at 20.5 points per game, and Gray’s passing remains central to the team’s success. The Aces are averaging 87 points this postseason, and a mix of inside scoring and three-point shooting has made them difficult to slow down.

Las Vegas is favored to take a 2–0 lead, and the Aces’ playoff form shows that it will be done. The Aces have been more consistent late in games, with Wilson anchoring both ends and receiving help from Young, Loyd, and Gray. Phoenix’s offense flows well, but Las Vegas has more options late in close games, which this is expected to be. The Aces will take a 2-0 lead to Phoenix for Game 3, after winning Game 2 on Sunday.
