Aces 63% to Stay Alive vs Valkyries | Kalshi Promo Code

By: Alex MacMillan Published 10/09/2026, 07:48 PM ET

The Las Vegas Aces have reached the first true elimination game of their title defense.

Golden State leads the WNBA semifinal series 2-0 after winning both games in San Francisco, but prediction-market traders still favor Las Vegas to extend the series Friday night.

Kalshi currently gives the Aces approximately a 63% chance to win Game 3, compared with roughly 37% for the Valkyries.

That makes Las Vegas the favorite in a game it cannot afford to lose.

Aces Have 63% Chance to Win Game 3

The current Kalshi Game 3 market favors Las Vegas:

  • Las Vegas Aces: approximately 63%
  • Golden State Valkyries: approximately 37%

The market is separating Friday night's matchup from the overall state of the series.

Golden State owns the far more valuable position because it already has two victories.

Las Vegas, however, returns home for Game 3 after losing twice at Chase Center.

That home-court shift is giving the Aces a meaningful edge in the individual game market.

Golden State Leads Series 2-0

The Valkyries have put the defending champions on the brink.

Golden State won Game 1 71-60 behind a defense that controlled Las Vegas for most of the afternoon.

The Valkyries then followed with a far tighter 83-81 victory in Game 2.

That game came down to the final minute.

Veronica Burton hit a deep 3-pointer to move Golden State in front with 41 seconds remaining and then made two late free throws to help secure the win.

Tiffany Hayes led the Valkyries with 21 points.

The result gave Golden State a 2-0 series advantage and three opportunities to earn one more victory.

Las Vegas Nearly Stole Game 2

Game 2 also showed why the Aces are still being respected by the market.

Golden State controlled much of the game and led by as many as 17 points.

Las Vegas continued to push back.

The Aces eventually moved ahead late in the fourth quarter before Golden State responded with the decisive baskets.

An 83-81 loss is different from the 71-60 defeat Las Vegas suffered in Game 1.

The Aces were one possession away from tying the series.

Instead, they return home needing to win just to keep playing.

A'ja Wilson Enters Game 3 as WNBA MVP

Las Vegas received major individual news before its elimination game.

A'ja Wilson was named the 2026 WNBA Most Valuable Player on Thursday.

It is Wilson's record fifth MVP award.

She has now won the honor in 2020, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026, becoming the first player in league history to win three consecutive MVP awards.

Wilson received 65 of 74 first-place votes.

She finished the regular season averaging 26.2 points and 9.4 rebounds while helping Las Vegas finish 31-13.

The timing makes Friday particularly interesting.

The newly crowned MVP now has to keep the defending champions from elimination.

Wilson Has to Solve Golden State's Defense

Golden State's defense was one of the defining characteristics of its regular season.

The Valkyries allowed only 75.1 points per game, the best mark in the league.

Las Vegas presents a very different challenge.

The Aces averaged 91.5 points during the regular season and were one of the league's most efficient offensive teams.

Wilson remains the center of everything Las Vegas does, but Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray become especially important when Golden State commits additional attention to the interior.

The Aces need more consistent scoring around Wilson than they received in Game 1.

They found more answers in Game 2.

They now have to carry that offensive improvement home.

Golden State Has Flipped the Regular-Season Matchup

The semifinal results are especially notable because Las Vegas controlled the matchup during the regular season.

The Aces went 3-0 against Golden State before the playoffs.

Las Vegas won those meetings 91-81, 84-79 and 92-73.

The Valkyries have now beaten the Aces twice in six days.

That turnaround is one of the biggest stories of the semifinal round.

Golden State has gone from a team that could not beat Las Vegas during the regular season to being one victory from eliminating the defending champions.

Valkyries Are One Win From WNBA Finals

Golden State is attempting to reach the WNBA Finals in only its second season.

The Valkyries finished the regular season 32-12, giving them the second-best record in the league.

They have already survived one elimination game during these playoffs.

Golden State came back from 16 points down to defeat Dallas in the deciding game of its first-round series.

Now the situation is reversed.

The Valkyries are the team with three chances to close.

A win Friday sends them directly to the Finals.

Las Vegas Has No Margin for Error

The Aces' path is much narrower.

Las Vegas must win Game 3 at home Friday.

It would then need another home victory in Game 4 on Sunday.

Only then could the series return to San Francisco for a winner-take-all Game 5 on Wednesday.

The Aces have experience in this position.

They needed a deciding first-round victory over Indiana just to reach the semifinals, with Wilson scoring 36 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in that elimination game.

Las Vegas now needs another response with its season on the line.

Aces vs Valkyries Game 3 Markets

Kalshi's main Game 3 market currently makes Las Vegas the favorite.

The Aces are around 63% to win outright.

Golden State is around 37%.

The spread market also prices Las Vegas as the stronger side, with the probability of an Aces win by more than 3.5 points sitting near 52%.

The total market is close to balanced around 156.5 points.

That pricing suggests traders expect a competitive game despite Las Vegas' home-court advantage.

The series situation is lopsided.

The Game 3 market is not.

Las Vegas Favored to Extend the Series

Golden State has earned complete control of this semifinal.

The Valkyries are 2-0 and only need one more win.

Las Vegas has no safety net remaining.

Yet Friday's prediction market still makes the Aces the more likely Game 3 winner.

Las Vegas is currently around 63% to beat Golden State and extend the series.

The Aces are back home, they came within one possession of taking Game 2, and the newly crowned five-time MVP will have the ball in an elimination game.

Golden State has already overturned the regular-season matchup.

One more victory would finish the job.
