Foldable iPhone Price at $2,000? 88% | Polymarket Promo Code

By: Devin Erickson-Sheehy Published 09/09/2026, 09:15 AM ET

Apple is expected to reveal its first foldable iPhone Wednesday, and Polymarket traders increasingly believe the new device will come with a starting price of at least $2,000.

The live foldable iPhone price market on Polymarket currently gives the $2,000-or-higher threshold approximately an 88% probability ahead of Apple's September 9 event.

The pricing gets much more interesting above that level.

Polymarket currently gives a starting price of at least $2,100 roughly an 82% chance, while the probability falls to around 31% at $2,200 or higher.

That makes the narrow range around $2,100 to $2,200 one of the biggest questions entering Apple's presentation.

Foldable iPhone $2,000 Price Reaches 88% on Polymarket

Polymarket has several separate contracts built around potential starting-price thresholds for Apple's first foldable phone.

At the latest check, the board looked like this:

  • $1,800 or more: approximately 97%
  • $2,000 or more: approximately 88%
  • $2,100 or more: approximately 82%
  • $2,200 or more: approximately 31%
  • $2,300 or more: approximately 8%
  • $2,400 or more: approximately 5%

Nearly $100,000 has already been traded across the broader price market.

The biggest takeaway is not simply that traders expect an expensive phone.

It is where the probabilities begin to collapse.

A starting price below $2,000 would now be a major surprise according to the market. A price at or above $2,300 would also be a substantial upset.

The real uncertainty sits between those extremes.

Apple Event Begins at 1 PM ET Wednesday

Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event is scheduled for 10:00 AM PT, or 1:00 PM ET, on Wednesday, September 9.

The company has not officially confirmed the foldable iPhone's price before the presentation.

Reports entering the event have nevertheless centered on a price above the traditional premium-iPhone range.

Reuters reported Wednesday that Apple's first folding phone is expected to cost more than $2,000. Other reporting has pointed specifically toward a potential $2,000 starting price for the entry-level configuration.

That reporting helps explain why Polymarket traders have become so confident in the $2,000 threshold.

The question is whether Apple stops close to that number or pushes substantially higher.

Why the $2,200 Threshold Matters

The sharp change between $2,100 and $2,200 is the most revealing part of the market.

Traders are currently much more comfortable predicting a price of at least $2,100 than they are backing $2,200 or more.

That suggests the market is concentrating heavily around a starting price only modestly above $2,000.

Apple's pricing strategy will be especially important because this is not simply another annual iPhone update.

The company is entering a foldable-phone category already occupied by Samsung, Google and other manufacturers.

Apple can command premium pricing because of the strength of the iPhone ecosystem, but a significantly higher starting price could also narrow the potential audience for an already expensive new form factor.

That tension is exactly what the prediction market is attempting to price before the announcement.

What Could Move the Foldable iPhone Odds?

The most obvious catalyst is the Apple event itself.

If Apple announces the foldable phone and gives an official U.S. starting price, the market will have the information needed to determine the eventual outcome.

There are several details that matter.

The Polymarket contract uses the lowest starting price publicly announced by Apple for a qualifying foldable iPhone in the United States.

Higher-storage configurations do not determine the result.

Trade-in discounts, carrier subsidies, bundled services and promotional pricing also do not count.

That distinction matters if Apple introduces multiple storage options or more than one foldable model.

The base U.S. price is what traders are trying to predict.

Will Apple's Foldable iPhone Cost More Than $2,000?

Polymarket traders clearly think so.

The $2,000 threshold currently carries an implied probability near 88%, while $2,100 remains above 80%.

The market becomes much less confident once the price reaches $2,200.

That gives Wednesday's Apple event a very specific prediction-market question to answer.

Apple is widely expected to introduce its first foldable iPhone.

Now traders are waiting to see whether the company prices its biggest iPhone redesign in years near $2,000, closer to $2,200 or somewhere in between.

With the announcement scheduled for 1:00 PM ET, those probabilities could move quickly as soon as Apple's official pricing reaches the stage.
