Valkyries 56% to Beat Dream in WNBA Finals Game 2 | Kalshi Promo Code

By: Alex MacMillan Published 10/19/2026, 06:50 PM ET

The Golden State Valkyries are one win into the 2026 WNBA Finals, but Saturday's 68-64 victory over the Atlanta Dream hardly settled the matchup. Atlanta led by five entering the fourth quarter at Chase Center and had a chance to steal the series opener before Golden State's defense took over.

The Valkyries now return to their home floor for Game 2 on Monday, October 19, at 8:00 PM ET. Kalshi's latest Game 2 winner market gives Golden State approximately a 56% chance to win, compared with 44% for Atlanta. That is a narrow advantage, not a runaway favorite, and the price reflects how close these teams were in the opening game.

Valkyries 56%, Dream 44% in Kalshi's Game 2 Market

Golden State enters Monday as the prediction-market favorite, but the margin is modest. At the latest observed price, the Valkyries have a 56% market-implied chance of taking Game 2, with the Dream around 44%. The two prices describe the individual game, not the probability of winning the entire championship.

The Dream showed Saturday they can control long stretches against Golden State. A win Monday would send the series to Atlanta tied 1-1; another Valkyries win would create a 2-0 lead.

The contract is specific to Monday's Dream-Valkyries Game 2 winner. Market probabilities can change before tipoff as traders react to lineup news, availability and changing expectations.

How Golden State Stole Game 1 From Atlanta

The Dream had an opportunity to take control of the Finals in San Francisco. They led 22-14 after the first quarter, recovered from a strong Golden State second period and went into the fourth quarter ahead 56-51.

Then their offense stalled. Atlanta managed only eight points in the final quarter and shot 2-for-19 from the field, missing all seven of its three-point attempts. The Dream scored just one field goal over the final 7:16. Golden State closed the game on a 17-6 run to secure the four-point victory.

Gabby Williams provided the biggest individual difference. She finished with 26 points, including 16 in the second quarter, and hit four crucial free throws in the closing minutes. No other Golden State player reached double figures, but Kiah Stokes added four blocked shots and Kaila Charles grabbed 10 rebounds as the Valkyries' defense gave Atlanta little room late.

Atlanta Needs More From Reese, Gray and Howard

Angel Reese was a major factor early for Atlanta, scoring 11 points in the opening quarter on 5-for-6 shooting. She finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, but did not make another field goal after the first period. Golden State's interior defense gradually reduced the easy scoring opportunities that had helped Atlanta build its early lead.

Allisha Gray led the Dream with 19 points after returning from a hand injury that had sidelined her during part of the semifinals. Her presence gives Atlanta another primary scoring option, though Golden State limited her to 5-for-19 shooting. Rhyne Howard added 12 points on 3-for-14 shooting and had trouble generating clean perimeter looks.

For Game 2, Atlanta has to find a better offensive response when Golden State switches, closes out and protects the lane. More consistent activity from Reese after halftime and improved shot creation from Gray and Howard would make the Dream far more dangerous than their fourth-quarter Game 1 numbers suggest.

Why Game 2 Matters Before the Series Moves to Atlanta

Golden State has won all four meetings with Atlanta this season, including three in the regular season and Saturday's Finals opener. That gives the Valkyries a meaningful matchup history, but every win has its own circumstances. Game 1 was decided by only four points despite the Dream's late shooting collapse.

Monday is Golden State's final home game before the series moves to Atlanta for Game 3 on Wednesday, October 21, and Game 4 on Saturday, October 24. The Dream will host those games at State Farm Arena, creating a different setting and a chance to reset the series in front of their own fans.

WNBA Finals Game 2: The Bottom Line

Golden State earned its series lead through defense and Williams' 26-point performance, but Atlanta had a real opportunity to win the opener.

The latest observed Kalshi Game 2 market makes Golden State a 56% favorite over Atlanta at 44%. The Valkyries have home court and a perfect season record against the Dream, while Atlanta's path to evening the series starts with better fourth-quarter execution and steadier scoring from its top players.
