By: Alex MacMillan Published 09/30/2026, 07:32 PM ET

The Golden State Valkyries enter Wednesday night with a chance to finish their first-round playoff series against the Dallas Wings.

Kalshi's current market gives Golden State approximately a 64% chance to win Game 2, compared with roughly 36% for Dallas.

The prediction market favors the Valkyries after they overwhelmed the Wings 104-80 in Game 1 on Sunday.

Golden State now leads the best-of-three series 1-0.

Valkyries Have 64% Chance to Beat Wings

Golden State enters Game 2 as the clear prediction-market favorite.

The current Kalshi winner probabilities are approximately:

  • Golden State Valkyries: 64%
  • Dallas Wings: 36%

Golden State already owns the advantage that matters most.

The Valkyries won Game 1 and only need one more victory to advance.

Dallas has no margin for error.

The Wings must win at home Wednesday night to keep their season alive.

Golden State Dominated Game 1

The series opener was not particularly close.

Golden State beat Dallas 104-80 after blowing the game open with a 37-11 second quarter.

The Valkyries led 58-31 at halftime and eventually built a 36-point advantage.

Golden State also tied a franchise record by making 18 three-pointers.

The Valkyries shot 50% from beyond the arc, with eight different players making at least one three.

That combination of depth and perimeter shooting created a matchup Dallas could not solve.

Three Valkyries Scored at Least 20 Points

Golden State did not need one superstar performance to take Game 1.

It received major production from several players.

Cecilia Zandalasini led the Valkyries with 22 points while shooting 4-for-5 from three-point range.

Tiffany Hayes scored 21 points off the bench in only 18 minutes.

Gabby Williams added 20 points.

That balance has been one of Golden State's biggest strengths throughout the season.

The Valkyries finished the regular season with one of the WNBA's deepest rotations, and their bench production carried directly into the playoffs.

Paige Bueckers Needs More Help From Dallas

Paige Bueckers was one of the few Dallas players who found consistent success in Game 1.

The rookie scored 21 points on 9-for-10 shooting and added six rebounds.

But the rest of the Wings struggled to match Golden State's scoring.

Arike Ogunbowale finished with 10 points.

Jessica Shepard went scoreless on seven field-goal attempts.

Dallas cannot rely on Bueckers to carry the offense alone if it wants to force Game 3.

The Wings need more scoring throughout the lineup and a much stronger defensive performance against Golden State's shooters.

Dallas Returns Home for Game 2

The biggest argument for the Wings is location.

Dallas was one of the WNBA's strongest home teams during the regular season, finishing 16-6 at College Park Center.

Wednesday is also the Wings' first home playoff game since 2023.

That home-court advantage helps explain why the prediction market is not more lopsided after Golden State won Game 1 by 24 points.

Dallas has been considerably more dangerous at home.

But the Wings still have to reverse a matchup that Golden State has controlled throughout 2026.

Valkyries Have Won Every Meeting This Season

Sunday's playoff victory continued a season-long trend.

Golden State swept the regular-season series against Dallas and has now beaten the Wings four times in four meetings this year.

The Valkyries won the three regular-season games before taking Game 1 of the playoffs.

That gives Golden State a substantial body of recent success against the same opponent.

Dallas now needs to break that trend immediately.

There is no opportunity to recover from another loss.

Golden State Defense Remains a Major Advantage

The Game 1 offense received most of the attention because Golden State scored 104 points, but the Valkyries also entered the postseason with the WNBA's top-ranked defense.

Golden State allowed only 75.1 points per game during the regular season.

That defensive foundation gives the Valkyries another path to victory if the three-point shooting cools off.

Dallas scored only 80 points in Game 1 despite Bueckers barely missing from the field.

The Wings need more efficient possessions from the rest of the roster while also finding a way to slow Golden State at the other end.

Game 2 Is an Elimination Game for Dallas

The best-of-three format makes Wednesday straightforward.

  • Golden State win: Valkyries win the series 2-0 and advance.
  • Dallas win: Series tied 1-1 and Game 3 is required.

If Dallas extends the series, Game 3 will be played Friday in San Francisco.

That would return home-court advantage to Golden State for the deciding game.

The Wings therefore have to win tonight and then beat the Valkyries on the road to complete the comeback.

Valkyries vs Wings Starts at 9 PM ET

Golden State and Dallas tip at 9:00 p.m. ET Wednesday at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

The game will air nationally on ESPN.

It is the second WNBA playoff game of the night and the final Game 2 scheduled for Wednesday.

Golden State has the opportunity to join New York as a team advancing with a first-round sweep.

Dallas is trying to keep its season alive for at least two more days.

Golden State Favored to Complete the Sweep

The Valkyries enter Game 2 with control of the series and another favorable prediction-market price.

Golden State currently has approximately a 64% chance to beat Dallas.

The Wings sit around 36%.

Game 1 showed why traders are backing the Valkyries.

Golden State scored 104 points, made 18 three-pointers and received at least 20 points from three different players.

Dallas now gets home court and an elimination-game atmosphere.

But the Wings still have to beat a Golden State team they have not defeated all season.

The Valkyries need one more win to move on.
