The Coach's Center Ice Report - 8:30 PM Start
(NHL) Edmonton vs. Dallas, 11/25/2014 3:30 PM, Score: 2 - 3
Money Line: -180.00 Dallas (Home)
Result: Win
The Dallas Stars opened a five game homestand with a 6-4 loss against the Canes but have looked more like the team we expect them to be over their last two games dismissing both the Coyotes and the Kings. The Edmonton Oilers were hammered by the Blackhawks Saturday losing 7-1, and I think the Stars will pile on their misery handing the visitors a seventh consecutive loss.

Here are my keys to the game:

1. Edmonton's Inefficiency - There is one simple reason why the Oilers are suffering an extended losing streak. They've scored only 11 goals over their last six games and are averaging 2.33 goals per game for the season, which ranks them fourth from the bottom. It's hard to win hockey games while scoring that few goals, especially when your #1 netminder is posting a 4.27 GAA over a 0-6-1 span. Yes Ben Scrivens, I'm looking at you.

2. Road Woes - The Oilers have won only eight of the last 41 meetings in Dallas and only two of their eight away from home for the season.

3. X-Factor - Kari Lehtonen has owned the Oilers since coming over from Atlanta in 2009, going 11-2-1 with a 1.92 GAA in 14 starts.

Selection: This is a play on the Dallas Stars (5*)
