Neither teams has been playing to many higher-scoring affairs of late, but we expect those trends to end this evening.
The Yanks have seen the total go UNDER in four straight. They've been struggling with consistency, as yesterday's victory snapped a three-game slide. New York still averages 5.23 runs per game though, which is ranked second. It's all hands on deck for New York as it looks to string some wins together and get back to its winnning ways.
Boston has seen the total go UNDER in three straight now. It had won two straight before yesterday's loss. The Red Sox though have seen the total go OVER in seven of their last ten after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row. The Red Sox desperately need victories as well at this point.
Situationally it sets up great for a higher-scoring SLUG-FEST.
Jameson Taillon is 11-2 with a 3.95 ERA for the Yanks, while Michael Wacha is 6-1 with a 2.69 ERA for the Red Sox.
It's difficult to make any negative comments about these two guys, as they've been super solid. It's just a case of each being in the wrong place at the wrong time tonight.
