Thirty-year old southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez (4-0 2.25 ERA) is starting to show some return on the $80 million dollar free agent deal he signed with the Diamondbacks. In his last start, Rodriguez lasted eight plus innings and allowed one run during a 5-1 home victory versus New York.

Rockies Preview

The Colorado Rockies have dropped eight of their previous 11 games and are trapped in the division basement. During Friday’s loss, SP Kyle Freeland (1-5) was roughed up for six runs in the opening frame and lasted just three plus innings. C Hunter Goodman hit his 11th home run of the year for the Rockies (17-28), who fell to 8-12 at home.

Colorado skipper Warren Schaeffer will give the nod to veteran right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano (3-3 4.07 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Sugano (5 IP) was tagged for seven hits and five runs during a 6-0 road loss against Philadelphia.
