Red Sox Preview

The Boston Red Sox are riding a nine-game winning streak and have emerged as the betting favorite to represent the American League in the World Series. During Friday’s home victory, OF Wilyer Abreu went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and a run scored to highlight the Boston offense. SP Payton Tolle struck out a career-best 14 batters in six innings to earn the win for the Red Sox (64-51), who improved to 29-29 at home.

Twenty-five year old southpaw Jake Bennett (7-4 2.90 ERA) has been a major part of the Boston turnaround. The Red Sox have won four of Bennett’s previous five starts and he has allowed nine runs across his last 30 plus frames.
