Twenty-seven year old southpaw J.T. Ginn (8-6 3.51 ERA) is quietly putting together a nice season for the Athletics. Last time out, Ginn (6 IP) gave up three runs and struck out five batters during a 5-4 road loss against Cincinnati.

Red Sox Preview

The Boston Red Sox have won nine of their last ten games and are sitting comfortably in second place in the American League Wild Card standings. During yesterday’s home loss, Boston batters went 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. Leadoff hitter Jahmai Jones collected three hits and scored twice for the Red Sox (64-52), who fell to 29-30 at home.

Twenty-nine year old lefty Patrick Sandoval (1-0 3.38 ERA) will make his seventh start of the year for the Red Sox. In his last outing, Sandoval (5 IP) allowed two runs and retired five batters by strikes during a dominant 14-2 home victory versus Chicago.
