The Detroit Tigers have won seven of their last ten games and are currently seven games out of first place in the AL Central Division. During Tuesday’s home victory, 3B Colt Keith started the scoring for Detroit with a two-run blast in the opening frames. AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal (5-4) fanned nine batters in five innings to earn the win for the Tigers (41-50), who moved to 24-21 at home.

Detroit skipper A.J. Hinch will give the nod to twenty-five year old righty Troy Melton (4-1 2.05 ERA) on Wednesday. In his last start, Melton fired six plus shutout frames and fanned seven batters during an impressive 6-2 road victory against New York.
