On Wednesday, 1B Matt Olson went 3-for-5 with his 28th home run and scored twice to lead Atlanta to a 9-4 road triumph against Washington.

Twenty-six year old righty Bryce Elder (7-10 5.56 ERA) will take the mound for the Braves in this matchup. Last time out, Elder (4.1 IP) was tagged for ten hits and six runs during a 6-2 home loss versus Houston.

Tigers Preview

The Detroit Tigers have dropped seven of their previous 11 games and have seen their AL Central Division lead over Cleveland trimmed to 3.5 games. On Thursday, Detroit batters managed just five hits and struck out ten times during a 3-1 home loss versus Cleveland. AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal fanned nine batters in six innings and did not factor in the decision for the Tigers (85-68).

Detroit skipper A.J. Hinch will give the nod to forty-one year old righty Charlie Morton (9-10 5.56 ERA) on Friday. Morton, who pitched the previous four seasons for the Braves, has surrendered 16 runs across his last 15 plus frames.
