The New York Yankees are four games above .500 at home and hold a half-game lead over Boston for first place in the American League standings. The Yankees (65-51) walked it off on a Ryan McMahon sacrifice fly that scored newly acquired Luis Garcia Jr. with the winning run.

New York manager Aaron Boone will turn to 2023 American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole (5-5 3.42 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Cole (5.2 IP) allowed one run and struck out five batters during a 2-1 road victory against the Chicago Cubs.
