Twenty-six year old righty Spencer Strider (5-13 4.86 ERA) has put together a disappointing campaign for the Braves. In his last start, Strider (6 IP) gave up two runs and fanned eight batters during a 6-1 home loss versus Chicago.

Nationals Preview

The Washington Nationals have won six of their last ten games and have been eliminated from postseason contention. On Sunday, rookie OF Daylen Lile reached base four times and scored a run to spark Washington to a 4-3 home victory versus Pittsburgh. 3B Paul DeJong went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for the Nationals (62-87), who improved to 31-43 at home.

The Nationals will counter with struggling southpaw Mitchell Parker (8-15 5.69 ERA) in the series opener. Through 153 plus innings, Parker has surrendered 24 long balls and sports a subpar 1.44 WHIP.
