In Wednesday afternoon MLB interleague action, the Baltimore Orioles will take on the San Diego Padres from Petco Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. Last night, 3B Emmanuel Rivera went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs to lead Baltimore to a 6-2 road victory against San Diego.

Twenty-five year old southpaw Cade Povich (2-7 5.04 ERA) will take the ball for the Orioles in this matchup. In his last start, Povich (5 IP) gave up two runs and fanned five batters during a 3-2 home loss versus Boston.

Padres Preview

The San Diego Padres have dropped seven of their previous 11 games and have fallen 2.5 games back of Los Angeles for the top spot in the NL West Division. During Tuesday’s home loss, Luis Arraez put San Diego on the scoreboard in the third inning with a two-run blast. SP Yu Darvish (3-5) gave up four runs (3 ER) in four innings and took the loss for the Padres (76-63), who fell to 43-24 at home.

Thirty year old left-hander Nestor Cortes (2-3 5.06 ERA) will make his sixth start of the year for the Padres. Cortes, who was acquired in a trade with Milwaukee, has allowed nine runs over his last 24 frames.

San Diego SS Xander Bogaerts has landed on the 10-day injured list with a non-displaced fracture in his left foot. Through 139 games, Baltimore ranks 16th in OPS and 18th in runs scored.
