During yesterday’s home victory, 2B Ernie Clement staked Toronto to a 4-1 advantage with a three-run blast in the third inning. C Brandon Valenzuela collected three hits and scored a run for the Blue Jays, who improved to 31-34 overall. Toronto closer Louis Varland notched his tenth save and has allowed just one earned run this season.

Toronto right-hander Kevin Gausman (4-4 3.36 ERA) is showing no signs of slowing down at age thirty-five. Through 75 innings of work, Gausman has fanned 74 batters and ranks 21st in the majors with a 1.09 WHIP.
