The Minnesota Twins have won seven of their first nine home games and have missed the playoffs in four of the previous five seasons. During Tuesday’s home victory, leadoff hitter Byron Buxton homered twice and scored four runs to spark the Minnesota offense. SP Mick Abel (1-2) fanned ten batters across seven shutout frames to earn the win for the Twins, who are sitting atop the AL Central Division standings.

The Twins will counter with twenty-five year old righty Simeon Woods Richardson (0-2 4.60 ERA) on Wednesday. Last time out, Woods Richardson was tagged for five runs in four innings during a 10-4 road loss against Toronto.
