Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees have won six of their last ten games and trail Tampa Bay by 1.5 games for AL East Division supremacy. During Friday’s home loss, New York batters went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. Ben Rice and Trent Grisham each homered in a losing effort for the Yankees (37-26), who fell to 18-12 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will turn to twenty-five year old righty Cam Schittler (7-3 1.89 ERA) in the series finale. Through 76 plus innings, Schittler has retired 84 batters by strikes and ranks second in baseball with a 0.86 WHIP.
