On Sunday, Chicago closer Danny Palencia surrendered five runs in the ninth inning and failed to record an out during a 6-3 home loss versus Washington.

Thirty-five year old righty Colin Rea (10-6 4.30 ERA) will take the mound for the Cubs in this matchup. In his last start, Rea (4 IP) gave up five hits and three runs during a 7-6 home victory versus Atlanta.

Braves Preview

The Atlanta Braves have dropped seven of their previous ten games and are on the verge of being eliminated from postseason contention. On Sunday, Atlanta SP Joey Wentz (5-6) was ambushed for eight runs and lasted just two plus innings during an ugly 18-2 home loss versus Seattle. OF Jurickson Profar homered for the Braves (64-79), who fell to 34-35 at home.

Twenty-seven year old southpaw Joey Wentz (5.12 ERA) will make his tenth start of the year for the Braves. Last time out, Wentz (4 IP) allowed four runs and struck out eight batters during a 4-3 road loss against Chicago.
