On Friday, leadoff hitter Blake Dunn had two of Cincinnati’s four hits during a 5-0 road loss against New York. SP Rhett Lowder (3-4) gave up four runs in five plus innings and took the loss.

Twenty-seven year old southpaw Andrew Abbott (4-4 3.95 ERA) will head to the hill for the Reds in this contest. Last time out, Abbott (5 IP) allowed one run and fanned five batters during a 5-3 home loss versus Arizona.

Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees have won eight of their last ten games and hold a three-game lead over Tampa Bay for the top spot in the AL East Division. During yesterday’s home victory, DH Ben Rice crushed a three-run blast and 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. added a solo shot to power the New York offense. SP Cam Schlittler (8-3) fanned a career-best 13 batters to earn the win for the Yankees (46-28), who improved to 22-13 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will give the nod to talented right-hander Will Warren (7-1 3.47 ERA) on Saturday. The Yankees have won Warren’s previous five starts and he has allowed three or fewer runs in each of those outings.
