Marcel Ozuna and Esmerlyn Valdez each homered in a losing effort for the Pirates (41-41), who fell to 22-21 at home.

Pittsburgh manager Don Kelly will give the nod to talented right-hander Jared Jones (1-1 5.75 ERA) on Saturday. Jones, who exited last start after being struck by a line drive, has fanned 21 batters through 20 plus innings.
