Twenty-eight year old southpaw Nick Lodolo (2-1 5.20 ERA) will head to the hill for the Reds in this contest. In his last start, Lodolo (6.2 IP) worked around four walks and gave up three runs during a 6-4 home victory versus Atlanta.

Cardinals Preview

The St. Louis Cardinals are a game above .500 at home and trail first place Milwaukee by 4.5 games. During Friday’s home victory, 1B Nate Burleson homered and scored four runs to spark the St. Louis offense. OF Lars Nootbaar went 2-for-6 and scored a run out of the leadoff spot for the Cardinals (33-28), who improved to 17-16 at home.

St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol will give the nod to twenty-six year old lefty Matthew Liberatore (3-3 4.35 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Liberatore fired five plus shutout frames and fanned four batters during a 5-1 home victory versus Chicago.
