On Thursday, Washington rookie OF Andrew Pinckney hit his first career home run during a 7-3 road loss against Philadelphia. SP Miles Mikolas (3-9) was tagged for 12 hits and six runs in five innings for the Nationals (56-61).

Twenty-seven year old righty Cade Cavalli (8-5 3.52 ERA) is having a breakout season for the Nationals. Through 122 plus innings, Cavalli ranks 20th in the majors with 133 strikeouts and sports a respectable 1.29 WHIP.
