During Wednesday’s home loss, Detroit batters managed just five hits and left six runners on base. OF Zach McKinstry went 2-for-4 and drove in a run for the Tigers (20-30), who fell to 13-11 at home.
The Tigers will counter with 2018 number one overall draft pick Casey Mize (2-2 2.43 ERA) in the series finale. Through 37 innings of work, Mize has limited opponents to two long balls and struck out 39 batters while posting a sparkling 1.05 WHIP.
