Twenty-six year old righty Slade Cecconi (3-4 5.16 ERA) will head to the hill for the Guardians in this contest. In his last start, Cecconi (7.1 IP) allowed five hits and two runs during an 8-2 road victory against Detroit.

Phillies Preview

The Philadelphia Phillies have lost three straight games and are a distant ten games back of Atlanta for the top spot in the NL East Division. During Friday’s home loss, Philadelphia batters managed just four hits and were retired by strikes 12 times. SP Cristopher Sanchez fired eight shutout frames and did not factor in the decision for the Phillies (25-26), who fell to 13-15 at home.

The Phillies will counter with hard-throwing righty Zack Wheeler (3-0 1.99 ERA) on Saturday. Through his first five starts, Wheeler (31.2 IP) has limited opponents to one home run and struck out 30 batters while posting a miniscule 0.88 WHIP.
