Phillies Preview

The Philadelphia Phillies have won eight of their last 11 games and are trying to climb back into the NL East Division race. Last night, Philadelphia DH Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a solo shot during a lopsided 12-1 home loss versus the Athletics. SP Andrew Painter (1-4) was tagged for eight runs in three plus innings and took the loss for the Phillies (17-21), who fell to 10-11 at home.

Philadelphia interim manager Don Mattingly will give the nod to talented southpaw Jesus Luzardo (3-3 5.09 ERA) on Friday. In his last start, Luzardo (6.1 IP) allowed two runs and struck out ten batters during a 7-2 road victory against Miami.
