On Thursday, C Dillon Dingler hit his ninth home run and Detroit left nine men on base during a 3-1 home loss versus Cleveland.

Thirty year old right-hander Jack Flaherty (0-5 5.77 ERA) will look to get his season turned around for the Tigers. In his last start, Flaherty (6 IP) gave up five hits and four runs during a 4-1 home loss versus Toronto.

Orioles Preview

The Baltimore Orioles are looking to rebound after being swept in Tampa Bay and were outscored 25-10 in the three games. On Wednesday, Baltimore batters went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base during a 5-3 road loss. 1B Pete Alonso crushed a two-run blast and DH Samuel Basallo added a solo shot in a losing effort for the Orioles (21-29).

Baltimore manager Craig Albernaz will turn to veteran right-hander Chris Bassitt (3-3 5.44 ERA) in the series opener. Last time out, Bassitt (5 IP) was tagged for six hits and four runs during an ugly 13-3 road loss against Washington.
