Thirty year old right-hander Jack Flaherty (0-1 4.05 ERA) will take the mound for the Tigers in this matchup. In his last start, Flaherty (6 IP) allowed one run and struck out seven batters during a 2-1 home victory versus Kansas City.

Red Sox Preview

The Boston Red Sox are a game below .500 at home and are stuck in the AL East Division basement with Toronto. During yesterday’s home loss, Boston DH Willson Contreras crushed a solo shot in the first inning to even the score at 1-1. SP Garrett Crochet (2-3) was tagged for five runs in five innings and took the loss for the Red Sox.

Boston manager Alex Cora will counter with veteran right-hander Sonny Gray (2-1 4.43 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Gray (4 IP) was roughed up for nine hits and five runs during a 6-0 road loss against Minnesota.
