In Saturday afternoon MLB interleague action, the Detroit Tigers will take on the Miami Marlins from loanDepot Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Tigers (84-64) are three games above .500 on the road and are eight games clear of Cleveland for the top spot in the AL Central Division. Last night, Detroit OF Riley Greene went 2-for-4 with his 34th home run of the year during an 8-2 road loss against Miami.

Forty-one year old righty Charlie Morton (9-10 5.59 ERA) will take the mound for the Tigers in this matchup. Detroit has dropped Morton’s previous three starts (11.2 IP) and he has given up 14 runs over that stretch.

Marlins Preview

The Miami Marlins have won three straight games and are sitting in third place in the NL East Division standings. During Friday’s home victory, DH Heriberto Hernandez homered and scored three runs to spark the Miami offense. SP Sandy Alcantara (9-12) allowed two runs (1 ER) and lasted seven innings to earn the win for the Marlins (69-79), who improved to 35-41 at home.

Miami manager Clayton McCullough will turn to twenty-nine year old righty Janson Junk (6-3 4.48 ERA) on Saturday. Last time out, Junk (4.1 IP) was roughed up for eight hits and six runs during a 15-7 home loss versus Washington.
