Last night, C Dillon Dingler crushed two of Detroit’s five long balls and drove in four runs during a 10-9 road victory against Tampa Bay.

Thirty year old right-hander Jack Flaherty (0-7 5.81 ERA) is having a season to forget for the Tigers. Control has been a problem for Flaherty, who has issued 30 walks and surrendered eight long balls across 52 plus frames.

Rays Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays have won a major league best 21 of their first 28 home games and hold a one-game lead over New York for the top spot in the AL East Division. During Monday’s home loss, Tampa Bay 3B Junior Caminero hit his 14th home run and scored three times. Ryan Vilade added a three-run shot for the Rays, who fell to 36-21 overall.

Thirty-five year old southpaw Steven Matz (4-2 4.67 ERA) will make his tenth start of the year for the Rays. Last time out, Matz (3 IP) was tagged for seven hits and six runs during an 11-2 road loss against Baltimore.
