Division leaders will clash on Thursday afternoon, when the Houston Astros take on the Toronto Blue Jays from the Rogers Centre. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Astros (78-68) have dropped seven of their previous 11 games and are clinging to a 1.5 game lead over Seattle for the top spot in the AL West Division. Last night, C Yainer Diaz and SS Carlos Correa each homered to lead Houston to a 3-2 road victory against Toronto.

Twenty-eight year old righty Cristian Javier (1-2 4.43 ERA) will take the mound for the Astros in this matchup. In his last start, Javier (4.1 IP) was tagged for six hits and four runs during an 8-4 home loss versus New York.

Blue Jays Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays have won 46 of their first 71 home games and hold a three-game cushion over New York for AL East Division supremacy. During Wednesday’s home loss, Toronto 2B Andres Gimenez went 2-for-4 with an RBI. SP Jose Berrios gave up two runs across five plus frames and did not factor in the decision for the Blue Jays (83-62).

Toronto manager John Schneider will turn to veteran right-hander Kevin Gausman (9-10 3.63 ERA) on Thursday. Last time out, Gausman lasted eight innings and allowed just one run during a 7-1 road victory against New York.
