Tigers Preview

The Detroit Tigers have won seven of their first eight home games and are in search of their first division title since 2014. During Wednesday’s home victory, pinch-hitter Wenceel Perez broke a 1-1 tie with an eighth inning solo shot. 2B Gleyber Torres went 3-for-4 and veteran closer Kenley Jansen notched his fourth save for the Tigers, who evened their record on the year at 9-9.

Detroit manager A.J. Hinch will give the nod to twenty-five year old righty Keider Montero (1-1 1.74 ERA) on Thursday. In his last start, Montero lasted six innings and struck out seven batters during a 2-0 home victory versus Miami.
