Thirty-six year old righty Seth Lugo (1-1 1.53 ERA) will take the mound for the Royals in this matchup. Kansas City has won two of Lugo’s first three starts and he has not allowed a home run in 17 plus innings.

Tigers Preview

The Detroit Tigers are riding a four-game winning streak and are looking to win their first division title since 2014. During last night’s home victory, Zach McKinstry scored on a wild pitch and Dillon Dingler followed with an RBI double as Detroit scored twice in the eighth inning. SP Framber Valdez allowed one run across seven frames and did not figure in the decision for the Tigers, who improved to 6-1 at home.

Thirty year old right-hander Jack Flaherty (0-1 5.14 ERA) is searching to find his form for the Tigers. Control has been an issue for Flaherty, who has walked 11 batters and sports a subpar 1.64 WHIP across 14 frames.
