Twenty-six year old southpaw Reid Detmers (1-3 4.33 ERA) will make his ninth start of the year for the Angeles. Last time out, Detmers (3.2 IP) issued six walks and gave up a pair of runs during a 2-0 road loss against Toronto.

Guardians Preview

The Cleveland Guardians are three games above .500 at home and are in sole possession of first place in the AL Central Division. During Tuesday’s home victory, OF Angel Martinez got the scoring started for Cleveland with a third inning solo shot. Closer Cade Smith recorded four outs to notch his American League best 12th save for the Guardians.

Cleveland skipper Stephen Vogt will turn to talented right-hander Parker Messick (4-1 2.30 ERA) in the series finale. Through 47 innings of work, Messick has retired 51 batters by strikes and ranks 12th in the majors with a sparkling 0.98 WHIP.
