Rookie right-hander Walbert Urena (9-9 2.85 ERA) will make his 23rd career major league start for the Angels. Through 123 plus innings, Urena has limited the opposition to eight home runs and fanned 120 batters while posting a respectable 1.26 WHIP.

Pirates Preview

The Pittsburgh Pirates have won seven of their last 11 games and are five games back in the race for the final National League Wild Card spot. During Saturday’s home loss, Pittsburgh batters went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. OF Bryan Reynolds went 3-for-3 with a home run in a losing effort for the Pirates (70-73), who fell to 37-34 at home.

Pittsburgh manager Don Kelly will turn to reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes (9-11 3.97 ERA) in the series finale. Through 149 plus innings, Skenes ranks ninth in the majors with 179 strikeouts and owns a solid 1.16 WHIP.
