Twenty-six year old southpaw Reid Detmers (1-2 4.28 ERA) will get the ball for the Angels in this matchup. Through 40 innings of work, Detmers has retired 44 batters by strikes and owns a solid 1.15 WHIP.

Blue Jays Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to snap a four-game losing streak and are 9.5 games out of first place in the AL East Division. On Wednesday, Toronto batters went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base during a 3-0 road loss against Tampa Bay. SP Patrick Corbin (1-1) gave up two runs in five plus innings and was the hard luck loser for the Blue Jays, who fell to 6-13 on the road.

Toronto skipper John Schneider will turn to hard-throwing righty Dylan Cease (2-1 3.05 ERA) on Friday. In his last start, Cease (7 IP) allowed four runs (3 ER) and fanned seven batters during an 11-4 road victory against Minnesota.
