Last night, Miami SP Sandy Alcantara (3-4) was tagged for eight runs in five plus innings during an 8-1 road loss against Toronto.

Twenty-three year old righty Eury Perez (3-6 4.91 ERA) will make his 12th start of the year for the Marlins. Last time out, Perez (6.1 IP) allowed one run and fanned five batters during a 2-1 home victory versus New York.

Blue Jays Preview

The Toronto Blue Jays have won seven of their last 11 games and are ten games off the pace in the AL East Division race. During Tuesday’s home victory, OF Jesus Sanchez doubled and hit a grand slam to power the Toronto offense. OF Daulton Varsho contributed a pair of hits and scored twice for the Blue Jays (26-29), who improved to 16-13 at home.

The Blue Jays will counter with hard-throwing righty Kevin Gausman (4-3 3.23 ERA) in the series finale. In his last start, Gausman (6.1 IP) limited Pittsburgh to one run and retired eight batters by strikes during a 6-2 home victory.
