Marlins Preview

In Tuesday night MLB action, the Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals will continue their series from the nation’s capital. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Marlins (27-34) have dropped 19 of their first 28 road games and are buried in the NL East Division standings. Last night, Liam Hicks and Kyle Stowers each homered in the ninth inning to seal Miami’s 7-3 road victory.

Miami manager Clayton McCullough has not announced a starting pitcher for this contest. The Marlins currently rank 21st in the majors with a 4.38 ERA and a respectable 1.28 WHIP. Miami starters have logged 17 quality starts through the first two months of the season.

Nationals Preview

The Washington Nationals are six games below .500 at home and are 9.5 games back of NL East Division leading Atlanta. During Monday’s home loss, Jacob Young hit a two-run blast and Curtis Mead added an RBI single to give Washington an early 3-1 advantage. SP Cade Cavalli allowed two runs in five innings and did not factor in the decision for the Nationals, who fell to 31-30 overall.

Washington skipper Blake Butera will give the nod to veteran righty Miles Mikolas (1-4 5.72 ERA) on Tuesday. Through 50 plus innings, Mikolas has surrendered 11 long balls and owns a subpar 1.39 WHIP.

Marlins vs Nationals Pick

Miami SP Eury Perez has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a right gracilis strain. Through 61 games, Miami ranks 22nd in OPS and 19th in runs scored. For the season, Washington ranks 4th in OPS and 1st in runs scored. Take the over. Final Score Prediction, Washington Nationals win 6-5.
