During Tuesday’s home victory, All-Star OF James Wood went 2-for-5 with his 27th home run of the year. SP Cade Cavalli (2-1) allowed two runs in five innings to earn the win for the Nationals (55-83), who improved to 28-42 at home.
The Nationals will counter with twenty-five year old southpaw Mitchell Parker (7-15 5.94 ERA) in the series finale. Washington has dropped Parker’s previous five starts and he has surrendered 24 runs across his last 23 plus frames.
