The Wednesday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals from the nation’s capital. Last night, 3B Connor Norby drove in a pair of runs and Miami committed three errors during a 5-2 road loss against Washington.

Twenty-two year old righty Eury Perez (6-4 4.04 ERA) will make his 16th start of the year for the Marlins. Last time out, Perez was roughed up for five runs and recorded just two outs during a 19-9 road loss against New York.

Nationals Preview

The Washington Nationals have dropped eight of their previous 11 games and are trapped in the NL East Division basement. During Tuesday’s home victory, All-Star OF James Wood went 2-for-5 with his 27th home run of the year. SP Cade Cavalli (2-1) allowed two runs in five innings to earn the win for the Nationals (55-83), who improved to 28-42 at home.

The Nationals will counter with twenty-five year old southpaw Mitchell Parker (7-15 5.94 ERA) in the series finale. Washington has dropped Parker’s previous five starts and he has surrendered 24 runs across his last 23 plus frames.
