Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers Picks and Prediction for Wednesday October 14 2026
Milwaukee is heading to Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, for Game 3 of the NLCS. The Brewers will meet the Dodgers at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium, with first pitch set for 8:00 PM ET on FS1. Milwaukee has a 2-0 lead after winning both games at home, and now the Dodgers have some work to do. Los Angeles is favored around -175 on the moneyline, while Milwaukee is sitting at +145. The total is set at 7.5 runs. Weather should be pretty good for baseball, with temperatures in the upper 70s early and cooling off as the game goes along. I’m still a little surprised by the way the Dodgers have been hitting. This team has plenty of talent, but getting a big hit has become a real problem. Milwaukee hasn’t had that issue so far. The Brewers also have a bullpen that’s been giving opponents almost nothing. Make sure you’re ready for the rest of the playoffs with our free MLB picks.
Starting Pitchers
Robert Gasser is getting the start for Milwaukee. The left-hander finished the regular season at 5-5 with a 3.87 ERA over 109.1 innings. He struck out 103 batters and finished with a 1.19 WHIP. Gasser has been pitching better lately, going 2-0 with a 1.73 ERA over his last seven appearances, including the Division Series. In the playoffs, he’s thrown four innings with a 2.25 ERA. That’s not much work to judge him on, but I like what I’ve seen from him lately. Milwaukee doesn’t need seven innings from Gasser with the bullpen it has. Still, getting five or six good innings would make things a whole lot easier for Pat Murphy, especially with more games coming up at Dodger Stadium.
Blake Snell will take the mound for Los Angeles. Snell finished the regular season at 4-1 with a 1.90 ERA over 42.2 innings, striking out 55 batters. He also had a 2.19 ERA in five home starts this year, including the postseason. Those numbers look pretty good to me. The problem is that Snell has had trouble staying healthy, and his last playoff start wasn’t exactly what the Dodgers wanted. He walked five Atlanta hitters and lasted only 3.2 innings. Snell gave up just one earned run, so the damage wasn’t too bad. But all those extra pitches add up, especially against Milwaukee. The Brewers have been patient at the plate. I’d expect them to make Snell throw strikes instead of chasing pitches outside the zone. If his control is there, Los Angeles should have a good chance. If not, that Dodgers bullpen might be getting another early call.
Milwaukee Brewers Look To Put The Dodgers In A Bigger Hole
Milwaukee finished the regular season with a 103-59 record, and the Brewers haven’t slowed down much in October. They’re leading the series 2-0 after beating Los Angeles 2-1 in Game 1 and 7-4 in Game 2. Monday’s game was a pretty good example of what Milwaukee has been doing right. The Brewers fell behind early but came back with 12 hits and some big plays from William Contreras. He tied the game with a home run and later drove in the go-ahead run. The bullpen finished things off by retiring all 15 batters it faced. Not a bad way to take a two-game lead. I thought the Dodgers might have more success against Milwaukee’s pitching, but the Brewers have handled just about everything Los Angeles has thrown at them.

The Brewers scored 832 runs during the regular season while hitting .258 as a team. Milwaukee finished with 154 home runs, a .341 on-base percentage and a .403 slugging percentage. That’s not a huge home run total, especially compared with the Dodgers. But the Brewers have been getting runners on base and doing a good job bringing them home. The pitching hasn’t been bad either. Milwaukee finished the year with a 3.51 team ERA and 1,544 strikeouts. The bullpen has been even better in the playoffs, giving up only one earned run in 28.2 innings for a 0.31 ERA. That’s quite a stretch, and I doubt anybody in Los Angeles is looking forward to facing those relievers again. Of course, they’re not going to be perfect every night. Still, Milwaukee has a lot going for it right now, and the Dodgers haven’t found much of an answer.
William Contreras has been one of the players making things happen for Milwaukee. He hit .270 with 18 home runs during the regular season and picked up three hits with three RBIs in Game 2. Jackson Chourio had a good year as well, hitting .291 with 25 home runs. Christian Yelich drove in two runs Monday, while Brice Turang and Cooper Pratt also helped Milwaukee keep the offense going. One thing I like about the Brewers is that they aren’t waiting for one player to carry the entire lineup. They’re getting hits from different spots, and that’s making life tough on opposing pitchers. Milwaukee has been dealing with some pitching injuries, including Brandon Woodruff’s shoulder problem and Quinn Priester’s wrist injury. Grant Anderson has also been on the injured list with a biceps issue. Those injuries haven’t stopped the team from winning, although Murphy will have to keep an eye on how much he’s using his bullpen.
Los Angeles Dodgers Need To Find Their Offense In A Hurry
Los Angeles finished the regular season at 100-62, but that doesn’t mean much with the Dodgers trailing this series 2-0. The team has lost both games in Milwaukee and now has to figure out how to get back into things at home. Monday’s 7-4 loss was another rough one. Los Angeles grabbed an early lead, but Yoshinobu Yamamoto lasted only 2.2 innings and the bullpen had to take over. The Dodgers ended up using seven relievers, and Milwaukee kept finding ways to score. Los Angeles did beat Philadelphia in four games during the Division Series, so it’s not like this team can’t win in October. But the offense has looked pretty bad at times. I expected a lot more out of the Dodgers through the first two games. They can’t afford another poor night at the plate.
The Dodgers scored 801 runs during the regular season and finished with 204 home runs. Los Angeles also hit .257 with a .338 on-base percentage and a .424 slugging percentage. That’s a lot of power, and this lineup can put up runs when things are going right. They haven’t been going right lately. The Dodgers are hitting just .193 in the postseason and have gone 2-for-26 with runners in scoring position. That’s a lot of chances going to waste for a team with this much talent. The pitching staff finished the regular season with a 3.55 ERA, so Los Angeles has enough arms to compete with Milwaukee. Snell could give the Dodgers a better start than they got Monday. But somebody has to start driving in runs. Getting runners on base doesn’t help much when nobody brings them home.
Shohei Ohtani is one of the players Los Angeles needs more from. He hit .275 with 30 home runs and 81 RBIs during the regular season, but he’s just 3-for-20 in the playoffs with no extra-base hits. That’s a rough stretch for one of the best hitters in baseball. Ohtani has also been dealing with knee and biceps problems, although Dave Roberts expects him to play Wednesday. Will Smith has struggled at the plate as well, going 1-for-23 in October. Kyle Tucker has been one of the better hitters with six hits in 20 at-bats, but that’s not going to carry the whole lineup. Freddie Freeman has also been managing a knee problem, and the Dodgers have several pitchers on the injured list. Blake Treinen is among those unavailable. I still think Los Angeles has enough talent to turn this series around. The Dodgers just haven’t been playing like it.
Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers Picks and Prediction
Moneyline Pick: Milwaukee Brewers +145
I’m taking Milwaukee on the moneyline here, even with Snell starting for Los Angeles. I know what Snell can do when he’s throwing strikes, and the Dodgers have enough power to make Gasser pay for a few bad pitches. That’s what worries me most about this pick. But the Brewers have been the better team through two games, and I like the way they’ve been getting runners on base. Milwaukee doesn’t need to hit three home runs to win. The Brewers have also been making opposing pitchers work, and that could be a problem for Snell after he walked five batters against Atlanta. Then there’s the bullpen. Milwaukee has been getting some great relief pitching, and Gasser doesn’t have to stay on the mound all night for the Brewers to have a chance. Los Angeles is playing at home and could certainly come back with a big game, but I’m not laying -175 with a team hitting .193 in October. I’ll take Milwaukee +145 and see if the Brewers can make it three straight.
Total Pick: Under 7.5 Runs
I’m going with the under in this game. The Dodgers haven’t been getting hits when they need them, and Milwaukee has a pitching staff that’s been getting the job done. Gasser hasn’t worked many innings in the playoffs, but he’s been throwing pretty well lately. Snell has been even better when healthy, and his 1.90 regular-season ERA is hard to ignore. The walks are what concern me most. If Snell starts handing out free passes, Milwaukee has shown it can make those chances count. I’d also be a little worried if either starter has another short outing. That could put a lot of pressure on the bullpens. Still, Milwaukee has allowed almost nothing out of its bullpen this postseason, and Los Angeles hasn’t been hitting well enough to make me expect a big scoring night. I could see Milwaukee winning 4-2 or the Dodgers getting back into the series with a close win. Either way, I think this one stays under 7.5 runs.
Final Picks: Milwaukee Brewers +145 and Under 7.5 Runs.
