The Sunday MLB schedule will get underway with a matinee between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Pittsburgh Pirates from scenic PNC Park. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. The Brewers (59-36) are 12 games above .500 on the road and own a 6.5 game cushion for the top spot in the NL Central Division. In the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, Milwaukee P Aaron Ashby (12-2) gave up three runs in the seventh inning during a 7-6 road loss against Pittsburgh. Jake Bauers crushed a two-run blast in a losing effort for the Brewers.

Twenty-four year old righty Jacob Misiorowski (10-4 1.62 ERA) is doing some amazing things on the mound for the Brewers. Misiorowski, who is the front-runner to win the NL Cy Young Award, ranks 1st in the majors with 167 strikeouts and a microscopic 0.76 WHIP.

Pirates Preview

The Pittsburgh Pirates have won six of their last ten games and are three games back in the race for the final NL Wild Card spot. During the second game of yesterday’s doubleheader, OF Bryan Reynolds broke a sixth inning tie with an RBI single to lift Pittsburgh to a 3-2 home victory. OF Esmerlyn Valdez added a two-run shot for the Pirates (49-47), who improved to 26-24 at home.

The Pirates will counter with reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Paul Skenes (7-8 3.58 ERA) in the series finale. Last time out, Skenes (6 IP) scattered eight hits and allowed two runs during a 12-4 home victory versus Atlanta.
