OF Fernando Tatis Jr. contributed his 23rd home run for the Padres (85-71).

San Diego skipper Mike Shildt will give the nod to talented right-hander Nick Pivetta (13-5 2.81 ERA) on Monday. Through 176 innings, Pivetta has fanned 185 batters and ranks fifth in the majors with a 0.97 WHIP.
