On Wednesday, 2B Kody Clemens had a three-run blast and DH Josh Bell added a two-run shot to lead Minnesota to an 8-3 road victory against Houston.

Twenty-five year old righty Mike Paredes (0-1 4.26 ERA) will make his fifth career major league start for the Twins. Through 25 plus innings, Paredes has retired just 13 batters by strikes and owns a respectable 1.26 WHIP.

Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees are looking to snap a seven-game losing streak and have fallen 3.5 games behind Tampa Bay for the top spot in the AL East Division. On Wednesday, New York batters went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base during a 6-2 home loss versus Detroit. Amed Rosario hit a solo shot and Jazz Chisholm Jr. swiped two bases in a losing effort for the Yankees (48-38), who fell to 22-18 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will give the nod to 2023 American League Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole (2-3 4.06 ERA) on Friday. Last time out, Cole (5.1 IP) gave up seven hits and four runs during a 4-1 road loss against Boston.
