Yankees Preview

The New York Yankees have dropped eight of their previous 11 games and trail AL East Division leading Tampa Bay by 3.5 games. During Friday’s home victory, DH Ben Rice put New York ahead to stay with a two-run blast in the third inning. OF Trent Grisham contributed a solo shot and scored twice. SP Gerrit Cole (3-3) allowed two runs in five innings to pick up the win for the Yankees (49-38), who improved to 23-18 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will give the nod to veteran left-hander Carlos Rodon (4-2 3.30 ERA) on Saturday. Through 46 plus innings, Rodon has limited opponents to three long balls and fanned 52 batters while posting a respectable 1.25 WHIP.
