The New York Yankees have dropped eight of their previous ten games and are 4.5 games back of Tampa Bay for the top spot in the AL East Division. During yesterday’s home loss, New York batters went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. OF Max Schuemann had a two-run blast and drew a pair of walks in a losing effort for the Yankees (49-39), who fell to 23-19 at home.

New York manager Aaron Boone will turn to twenty-six year old lefty Ryan Weathers (3-6 4.08 ERA) on Sunday. Last time out, Weathers (1.2 IP) was roughed up for seven hits and five runs (2 ER) during a 7-3 home loss versus Detroit.
