Mariners Preview

The Seattle Mariners have dropped eight of their previous ten games and their lack of offense could force them to miss the postseason. During Friday’s home loss, Seattle batters went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position and managed just four hits overall. 2B Cole Young homered and struggling C Cal Raleigh added a two-run double for the Mariners (53-58), who fell to 30-24 at home.

Seattle skipper Dan Wilson will give the nod to first-time All-Star Logan Gilbert (8-6 3.44 ERA) on Saturday. Through 125 plus innings, Gilbert has retired 133 batters by strikes and ranks fifth in the majors with a sparkling 0.99 WHIP.
