Best MLB Player Props Today
-
Pete Alonso or Kyle Schwarber to hit a home run (+100, DraftKings)
-
Miles Mikolas under 3.5 strikeouts (+105, DraftKings)
-
Shohei Ohtani 3+ total bases (-115, FanDuel)
Alonso or Schwarber to Go Deep (+100)
Two of the game’s premier sluggers square off tonight in Citizens Bank Park in a high stakes Mets vs Phillies tilt, and both have favorable matchups. Pete Alonso has owned Aaron Nola over his career, posting a 1.028 OPS in 53 at-bats that includes five home runs. With Nola’s season long struggles combined with his tendency to leave pitches over the plate, we like Alonso's chances of popping one tonight.
On the other side, Kyle Schwarber is putting together an MVP-caliber campaign. While he went hitless in his last outing against Mets rookie Nolan McLean, Schwarber is always one swing away from changing the game. The cozy dimensions of Citizens Bank Park add even more appeal facing a rookie in a hostile environment.
Pairing these two power bats at even money looks like solid value.
Mikolas Under 3.5 Strikeouts (+105)
We go to the Pacific Northwest for play #2 in a Cardinals vs Mariners showdown.
Miles Mikolas has struggled to generate swings and misses all season, ranking in the 3rd percentile in whiff rate. That inability to put hitters away has shown up in the box score, as he’s stayed under 4 strikeouts in five of his last six outings and in seven of his last nine.
While Seattle does strike out at the third-highest clip in baseball, Mikolas doesn’t profile as a pitcher who can capitalize on that weakness. With his recent form and the likelihood of an early exit if things go south, the under on 3.5 strikeouts offers sneaky value at a plus money price.
Ohtani 3+ Total bases (-115)
Shohei Ohtani’s home run prop sits at +134 in tonight's Rockies vs Dodgers game, one of the lowest numbers we’ve seen in awhile.
This just underscores how favorable this matchup is. for him tonight. He’ll face Chase Dollander, a pitcher ranking near the bottom of the league in most advanced metrics.
Instead of chasing the home run market, the better play is on Ohtani 3+ total bases at -115. This prop allows for multiple paths to cash—whether it’s a homer, a pair of doubles, or a multi-hit performance. With the MVP seeing the ball well and in a prime matchup, this spot sets up nicely for him to deliver.
