Shohei Ohtani over 2.5 total bases (-105)
Jake Irvin Under 3.5 Strikeouts
We were on this same prop last Friday, and the logic still holds.
Irvin’s strikeout rate has cratered since August, and he simply isn’t fooling hitters at all. Now he matches up with a Miami Marlins lineup that ranks fifth in baseball in lowest strikeout rate, making them one of the toughest teams to punch out.
The Fish put the ball in play consistently, and given Irvin’s diminished whiff rate, it’s hard to envision him reaching four strikeouts tonight.

Jack Flaherty Under 14.5 Outs Recorded
Flaherty has struggled on the road all season, carrying a bloated 5.64 ERA away from home. Yankee Stadium is not the place to expect him to turn things around, especially against a New York lineup that thrives in the Bronx.
The Yankees’ patience at the plate has also been a problem for pitchers like Flaherty who walk batters at an above-average rate. We don’t see him making it through five innings here, making the under on 14.5 outs a strong play.

Shohei Ohtani Over 2.5 Total Bases
When a superstar like Ohtani has owned a particular pitcher, it’s worth backing. Against Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland, Ohtani has gone 6 for 8 with two home runs in his career. That kind of dominance, albeit in a limited sample, underscores the matchup advantage he enjoys tonight.
Whether it’s via a gap shot, a double down the line, or another blast into the seats, Ohtani has multiple paths to clear this 2.5 total bases prop and cash another ticket for bettors.
