In Friday night MLB action, the New York Mets will invade the Great American Ball Park to battle the Cincinnati Reds. Be ready for the baseball season with all of our MLB predictions. On Wednesday, All-Star 1B Pete Alonso collected three of New York’s eight hits and drove in a run during a 6-2 road loss against Detroit.

Thirty year old left-hander David Peterson (8-5 3.61 ERA) will head to the hill for the Mets in this contest. Last time out, Peterson was rocked for eight runs and lasted just two innings during an 11-8 home loss versus Miami.

Reds Preview

The Cincinnati Reds have dropped seven of their previous ten games and trail New York by four games in the race for the final NL Wild Card spot. On Wednesday, Cincinnati SP Zack Littell surrendered four home runs during a 13-9 home loss versus Toronto. OF Noelvi Marte went 2-for-5 and had three RBIs for the Reds (70-70), who fell to 38-33 at home.

Cincinnati skipper Terry Francona will give the nod to talented southpaw Andrew Abbott (8-5 2.65 ERA) on Friday. Through 139 innings of work, Abbott has struck out 125 batters and owns a solid 1.12 WHIP.
